Mr. Williams earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication from Wayne State University in 1978, graduating with high distinction. He attended Wayne State University Law School, receiving a Juris Doctor in December, 1981. He was awarded the Gold Key Certificate for academic achievement during his last year in law school. He was admitted to the Michigan Bar in May, 1982. While attending law school, Mr. Williams worked as a law clerk for a respected defense firm in Detroit and became an associate upon his admission to the Bar. He began practice primarily handling the appellate aspects of workers’ compensation law at all levels. He also litigated matters pending before administrative agencies, District and Circuit Courts. Mr. Williams joined Kluczynski, Girtz, Zamler & McCubbrey in July, 1986. He heads the appellate department as well as having active defense workers’ compensation litigation and subrogation dockets. Additionally, he handles both personal injury and employment-related defense cases. He served as an adjunct member of the Workers’ Compensation Appeal Board during its transition, following creation of the Appellate Commission. He became a shareholder in 1990.
